SCREENING FOR PLAGIARISM
Jurnal Intensi screens all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using Turnitin as part of the initial editorial assessment to ensure originality and academic integrity. Manuscripts that do not meet originality standards will not proceed to peer review.
Plagiarism Screening Process
• Evaluation of the overall similarity index and similarity from individual sources.
• Examination of overlapping text in key sections (introduction, results, discussion).
Screening Criteria
• ≤20% similarity is generally acceptable if properly cited.
• 20–30% similarity may require revision before further consideration.
• >30% similarity will result in rejection.
Manuscripts may be rejected regardless of similarity percentage if plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or improper citation is identified. Authors are responsible for ensuring originality and agree that editorial decisions on plagiarism are final.
Types of Plagiarism
• Direct plagiarism
• Self-plagiarism
• Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism
• Redundant or duplicate publication
• Improper paraphrasing
All forms of plagiarism are unethical and may result in rejection, revision, or retraction, depending on severity.
