Abstract

Dalam perspektif logoterapi, kehendak untuk memaknai hidup merupakan motivasi utama seorang individu. Situasi kehidupan yang sulit dapat mengancam persepsi individu mengenai makna hidupnya. Untuk lansia, penempatan dirinya di panti jompo dapat dipandang sebagai salah satu peristiwa kehidupan yang sulit dan membawa dampak emosional yang negatif, misalnya adalah pengalaman kesepian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses dan hasil aplikasi pendekatan logoterapi pada perempuan lansia yang mengalami kesepian, khususnya dalam setting panti wreda. Kedua partisipan merupakan penghuni panti jompo yang berusia 72 dan 66 tahun, serta telah tinggal di sebuah panti jompo di Jakarta Barat selama lebih dari 5 dan 7 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa logoterapi dipandang memiliki keterbatasan dalam mengatasi permasalahan kesepian pada perempuan lansia yang tinggal di panti jompo di Indonesia, serta bagi individu yang memiliki pola pemikiran yang konkret dan kurang humoris.
