Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important horticultural commodity that serves as a food source and has high economic value. Low potato productivity in Indonesia is partly caused by limited quality seeds and suboptimal cultivation techniques. One alternative to increase potato seed production is through hydroponic cultivation by selecting appropriate planting media and varieties. This study aims to determine the effect of various planting media and varieties on the growth and yield of hydroponically cultivated potato plants. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of Dieng Village, KejajarDistrict, Wonosobo Regency in September–December 2025. The experiment was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor of 4 levels, namely planting media (100% cocopeat and a mixture of cocopeat: rice husk charcoal 50%: 50%) with potato varieties (Granola L and Tedjo MZ), with ten replications. The observed variables include plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), fresh weight and dry weight of the plant crown (grams), root volume (ml), number of tubers per plant, tuber weight per plant (grams), tuber diameter (mm). The results of the study showed that the planting medium with varieties did not have a significant effect on the growth and yield of potato plants. The Granola L and Tedjo MZ varieties showed no different growth and yield responses in the hydroponic system with cocopeat and cocopeat: rice husk charcoal (50%:50%) planting media.
