About the Journal

International Journal of Applied Guidance and Counseling is a high-quality open access peer-reviewed research journal that is published by Guidance and Counseling Department, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, Indonesia in collaboration with Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association (ABKIN). IJAGC provides a platform that welcomes and acknowledges high quality empirical original research papers and literature review in the field of guidance and counseling written by researchers, academicians, professionals, and practitioners from all over the world. The Scopes of this journal are school guidance and counseling practice, guidance and counseling in all domain, guidance and counseling in all setting, mental health in society, human resource development, ethics or legal issues in counseling, multicultural in counseling and education, educational counseling and psychology, community counseling and social justice.

Focus and Scope

The International Journal of Guidance and Counseling (IJAGC) publishes articles that contribute to the development of theoretical and practical guidance and counseling in all settings. Articles to be published can be in the form of research or literature review.

This Journal is published twice a year (January and July) by Department of Guidance and Counseling, Faculty of Teachers Trainning and Education, Universitas Mercu Buana Yogyakarta in collaboration with Indonesian Association of Guidance and Counseling (ABKIN)

IJGAC Editor is very open in accepting articles related to our scope. Among them are:

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. The review process uses double blind review system. Those manuscripts evaluated by editors to be inappropriate to journal criteria are rejected promptly without external review. Manuscripts evaluated to be of potential interest to our readership are sent to reviewers. The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers recommendation from among several possibilities: rejected, require major revision, need minor revision, or accepted.
