Abstract
Competition between crop and weed is one of the reason how low the yield of crops. The presence of weeds on crop cultivation may reduce the ability of plants to produce. This research was conducted to determine the effect of weeding time on the yield of peanut in dryland and know the best weeding time to give the highest yield of peanut in dry land. This research was the single factor experiment with arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The treatments consisted of weeding at 21 days after planting, weeding at 14 and 28 days after planting, weeding at 21 and 42 days after planting, weeding at 14, 28, and 42 days after planting, pre growth herbicide spraying + weeding 42 at days after planting, pre growth herbicide spraying + weeding 21 and 42 days after planting, and without weeding as control. The results showed that the weight of 100 seeds of peanut without weeding treatment was lower than the plant with had weeding treatment. The yield components and yield of peanut at various weeding intensity were not significantly different. The yield of peanut that were not weeded decrease 15.90 to 36.72% compared to the plant weeded 2-3 times. Key words: peanut, weed, weeding, dry land
