PERUBAHAN KONSEP MASKULINITAS PESERTA PROGRAM “LAKI-LAKI PEDULI†DI KABUPATEN GUNUNG KIDUL, YOGYAKARTA

Salah satu dari beberapa tantangan terbesar yang dihadapi pemerintah saat ini dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup perempuan adalah bagaimana melibatkan peran serta laki-laki. Banyak laki-laki beranggapan jika permasalahan kesehatan perempuan adalah urusan si  perempuan itu sendiri dan tidak berkaitan dengan konsep maskulinitasnya. Padahal konsep maskulinitas yang diadopsi seorang laki-laki akan mempengaruhi bagaimana ia berperilaku dan menjalin relasi dengan perempuan, yang selanjutnya mempengaruhi pula kualitas kehidupan perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi perubahan konsep maskulinitas dan perilaku para laki-laki peserta Program Laki-laki Peduli, suatu progam yang berupaya meningkatkan keterlibatan laki-laki dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup perempuan dan anak dengan menyasar perubahan konsep maskulinitas laki-laki yang berkontribusi terhadap ketidaksetaraan gender. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan 5 orang laki-laki dan pasangannya yang diwawancarai secara terpisah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan konsep maskulinitas dan perilaku dari para subjek laki-laki menjadi sosok yang penyayang terhadap keluarga, meninggalkan cara-cara kekerasan dalam penyelesaian konflik rumah tangga, dan lebih mampu terlibat dalam urusan domestik dan pengasuhan.
