PENGARUH MINDFULNESS TERHADAP PERFORMA TUGAS KOGNITIF

Abstract

Kehidupan  di  perkotaan  dan  stress  sosial  yang  dialami  warga  kota  dapat  memicu terganggunya kualitas hidup. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, maka diperlukan suatu strategi untuk meregulasi emosi supaya individu dapat lebih adaptif. Penelitian ini mengukur pengaruh mindfulness sebagai strategi regulasi emosi terhadap tugas kognitif. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimental pada 30 orang mahasiswa dari Universitas “Xâ€yang terbagi dalam kelompok eksperimental dan control. Kriteria sampel adalah tidak buta warna dan berada dalam kondisi kesehatan yang baik. Kelompok eksperimental diberikan induksi mindfulness dan mempraktekannya. Sedangkan kelompok kontrol akan diberikan induksi mind wandering. Berikutnya,seluruh partisipan mengerjakan tugas kognitif berupa Emotional Stroop Task dan Original Stroop Task Test. Desain penelitian yang dipakai adalah randomized, posttest only, control group design yang melibatkan  randomisasi dan kontrol group dengan menggunakan teknik analisa ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh mindfulness terhadap tugas kognitif  pada mahasiswa dimana mahasiswa dapat lebih cepat dan meminimalisir kesalahan dalam pengerjaan tugas kartu original, netral, dan negatif, (p < 0,05) namun mindfulness belum dapat dikatakan sebagai salah satu strategi regulasi emosi yang efektif.
