PERAN STRESS AKADEMIK DAN STRATEGI COPING PADA PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING MAHASISWA BARU DI MASA PANDEMI
Abstract
Pandemi COVID-19 membuat pembelajaran perguruan tinggi dialihkan ke model pembelajaran online. Perubahan ini menuntut penyesuaian dari semua pihak, terutama mahasiswa baru karena peran akademik yang baru dan belum mendapatkan pengarahan dari senior atau dosen pembimbing secara langsung. Berbagai bentuk perubahan ini dinilai menjadi stressor bagi mahasiswa baru. Konsekuensinya, Mahasiswa dituntut mampu mengelola stress yang muncul melalui berbagai strategi coping. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji peran stress akademik dan strategi coping terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis pada mahasiswa tingkat I/2020. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. 198 partisipan dari perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta di Yogyakarta dilibatkan. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran Skala Stres Akademik, Skala Coping Strategi dan Skala Psychological Wellbeing secara online. Metode analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda untuk melihat pengaruh terhadap variabel-variabel yang ada. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas partisipan berada pada level stres sedang serta kemampuan strategi coping dan psychological wellbeing yang tinggi. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan stres akademik dan strategi coping terhadap psychological wellbeing. Stres akademik dan startegi coping dapat menjadi prediktor psychological wellbeing pada mahasiswa baru. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi bagi pihak kampus untuk membantu mahasiswa baru dalam mengelola stress akademik.References
