DISKREPANSI CITA-CITA DENGAN ORANGTUA, HARGA DIRI, DAN KERAGUAN MENGAMBIL KEPUTUSAN KARIR PADA SISWA SMA

Abstract


Keraguan mengambil keputusan karir telah banyak diteliti di kalangan remaja dan dewasa awal. Penelitian sebelumnya telah menemukan beragam faktor eksternal sebagai variabel anteseden, seperti dukungan orangtua, dan faktor internal, seperti pembentukan identitas diri. Meskipun demikian, belum banyak diketahui bagaimana diskrepansi cita-cita antara individu dengan orangtuanya dan harga diri individu memprediksi keraguan mengambil keputusan karir. Penelitian ini menguji hubungan antara diskrepansi cita-cita antara individu dengan orangtuanya dan harga diri dengan keraguan mengambil keputusan karir pada siswa SMA. Hipotesis yang diuji adalah disprepansi cita-cita antara individu dengan orangtuanya berkorelasi positif dan harga diri berkorelasi negatif dengan keraguan mengambil keputusan karir. Peneliti
melibatkan 239 siswa SMA di Lamongan, Jawa Timur (64.4% perempuan, rata-rata usia 16.70 tahun, SD = .89) dengan teknik sampling convenience sampling. Data diperoleh dengan Skala Diskrepansi Cita-Cita Individu-Orangtua (α = .92), Skala Harga Diri (α = .75), dan Skala Keraguan Mengambil Keputusan Karir (α = .82). Analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis dapat diterima. Diskrepansi cita-cita individu dengan orangtuanya berkorelasi positif (r =
.21; p < .01), dan harga diri berkorelasi negatif (r = -.25; p < .001) dengan keraguan mengambil keputusan karir. Artinya, semakin besar diskrepansi cita-cita antara siswa dan orangtuanya, dan semakin rendah harga diri siswa, maka semakin besar keraguan mengambil keputusan karir. Untuk meminimalisasi keraguan dalam mengambil keputusan karir, siswa diharapkan mengupayakan rendahnya diskrepansi cita-citanya dengan orangtua, dan melakukan beragam upaya untuk memupuk harga dirinya.
