A significant number of farmers have identified an opportunity to utilise the inexpensive gadung tubers to create herbal pesticides. This practice has been observed among farmers in the Sumbersari District of Jember. Farmers produce herbal pesticides at the domestic level using tools and materials sourced from the surrounding environment. The objective of this study was to ascertain the stages involved in the production of herbal pesticides derived from gadung tubers. This was achieved through a simple methodology, followed by an analysis based on the B/C and R/C ratios to evaluate the viability of the business venture. The findings of the survey indicate that the production of herbal pesticides from gadung tubers can be achieved through a straightforward process. This involves the use of 600 grams of gadung tubers, which are combined with lemongrass, garlic, and turmeric, then cleaned and ground, and finally stored for 24 hours to allow the pesticide to reach its optimal state for use. The analysis of farming efforts suggests that the manufacture of gadung tuber pesticides is a viable prospect, with a BEP value of 2.2.
