Abstract

Typhoid and paratyphoid (hereinafter referred to as typhoid) is an acute infectious disease of the small intestine which is included in the category endemic in Indonesia. The disease is classified as infectious diseases listed in Act No. 6 of 1962 on the outbreak. In Indonesia as an epidemic of typhoid rare but more often are sporadic, scattered in an area and rarely cause more than one case in the home and source of infection could not be determined. Identification of typhoid disease conducted with a variety of laboratory tests, including tests widal and culture. The results of these tests are used to ascertain the symptoms of typhoid patients within one week. Early identification of typhoid disease can also be done by looking at the condition of the patient's tongue, the tongue is the degree of soiling. Getting dirty tongue then the probability of patients suffering from typhoid will be even greater.
