Abstract

The research was aimed to know the effect of composting product of coffee processing waste with cow urine as probiotic sourse on yield quantity and quality of lettuce. The research was done in the experimental garden of University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta with the elevation of 100 m above sea level. The research was single faktor arranged in CRD (Completely Randomiced Design). The treatnents were compost with 0,5 l cow urine probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste, compost with 1,0 l cow urine probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste, compost with 1,5 l cow urine probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste, compost with 0,5 l EM4 probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste, compost with 1,0 l EM4 probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste, and compost with 1,5 l EM4 probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste. The results showed that there was no difference in the lettuce yield between the use of cow urine and EM4 probiotics. The treatment of compost with 0,5 l cow urine probiotic / 10 kg coffee processing waste to give the better quality and quntity of lettuce yield.
