Abstract

The research designed to know effect addition of cumin in feed on quail egg production. Material used includes 120 head of female quail at week old that arrange to 12 pens for four treatments and three replications. Cummin was added at C0 (0 %), C1 (0,5 %), C2(1,0 %) and C3 (1,5 %) levels. Feed given had 20 % of protein and 2900 kKal/kg of metabolizable energy. Observation had done from week of first laying to week of production peak reached. Result of the study indicated that cumin decreased feed consumption and feed-egg conversion. But no effect to first laying ages, peak level of production, egg weight and egg production. The conclusion of this study was that cumin can be used as feed additive for quail up to 1 % for increasing feed efficiency. Keywords : cumin, quail, egg
