Abstract

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is one of the components of microbes that play a role in ecosystem stabilizing. AMF is an aerobic bodies, therefore, tend to live on the surface of the soil. The eruption of Mount Merapi with volcanic ash and sand material will certainly affect the microorganisms that live in the surface soil (top soil). This study examined the performance of the AMF's life after the eruption of Mount Merapi, both in terms of types and colonization on various stands (i.e. : indigenus plant and crops stands). The results showed that volcanic eruptions be limiting the development of species AMF. Type AMF Glomus Sp. found to dominate the region affected by the eruption of Mount Merapi primarily on indigenus plant stands. Keywords: Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, the eruption of Mount Merapi
