RELATIONSHIP OF THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION OF TRADERS WITH FOOD SANITATION FACILITY OPERATES A PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILD IN KULON PROGO-DIY

Abstract
Based on the hygiene requirements of food sanitation , there are many regulation on food handling there are handlers, equipment, water, food, the material, food additives and tool of the vendor. Food that does’nt meet the requirements is harmfull for health. Therefore, this research conducted a survey about relation between education level of the vendor andsanitation hygiene of school-food in elementary school. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the safety food knowlegde of the vendor and the school-food hygiene and sanitation in Kulon Progo District. The method sampling using Proportionate random sampling, consists of two levels: level I determined sub-districts as a sampling and second level determined the number of elementary school for each sub-district as a sample. The datawas collected by observation, interview. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, microsoft excell and SPSS for Windows version 16 to test a correlation Spearmen. The research showed that of about 64% school-food vendors in elementary school in Kulon Progo had less knowledge of prohibited substances for food and about 40% of the vendors had lees knowlegde about food hygiene and sanitation. The education level of the vendor showed positive effect on the knowledge of prohibited substances and food hygiene and sanitation.
