PENERAPAN AGROTEKNOLOGI TANAMAN JAHE DAN PENGOLAHAN RIMPANGNYA SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN KESEJAHTERAAN PETANI DI DUSUN SOROGATEN DAN KALIBEROT

Abstract

Problems of food and dairy products as well as problem conversion of fertile lands to other uses, which became widely recent issues encourage the use of marginal lands as a source of food both main and alternative. Sorogaten and Kaliberot are two villages that represent conditions of marginal land with an area large enough (> 56%of total agricultural land area) facing problems in land use that can provide additional income. Science and Technology Program for People in both villages conducted by a team of Agrotechnology Study Program of Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta trying to provide a solution. Using extension, training, mentoring methods and comparative study, has successfully trained two farmer groups in the cultivation and processing of ginger to the analysis of business and how to marketing it. In Sorogaten village has formed a group of ginger processing business and is currently in the process of getting the SP-IRT from Health Agency District Kulonprogo.
